I'm noticing it's nearly impossible to see some of the temperature colors when the radar screen is empty. See attached. Any thoughts about a completely white METAR plot (I like the color coded weather ob / wind barbs, but I'm talking about temp/DP.) Attachments:

White T and Td would be great. The temperatures have been ridiculously cold here in WI all winter. I haven't been able to see the temperatures and dewpoints because of a combination of the following: small font size of the ridiculously cold temperatures; the color coding of those ridiculously cold temperatures; and the background land satellite color of the area experiencing those ridiculously cold temperatures.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! All in all, I really like the color coding, especially for dewpoints because they do a good job with regard to highlighting boundaries. No matter what color(s) I use, there will always be some combination of circumstances (i.e. background, radar data, monitor contrast/brightness, video card) that will make the T/Td plot difficult to read (even white), so in that respect I'm not sure I'll truly be able to 'fix' the issue. However, I think you're correct in that a change in the font and/or color coding would be a good improvement. I tell you what, while I'm trying to figure that out, I'll go ahead and make an alternate version in which color coding of the temperature and dewpoint is switched off. The link for the alternate (white T/Td plot) placefile is: placefiles.redteamwx.com/fullob2.phpMake sure you have an: http:// at the beginning of the link that you paste into the placefile manager. Additionally, let me know if you run into any bugs not previously mentioned, in case I screwed something up accidentally while turning off the colors. -Brandon V.

Thanks Brandon! It does the job very nicely. Now, not to belabor the phrase...but can you do something about the ridiculously cold temperatures?
